FORGIVENESS IS A VIRTUE

FORGIVENESS IS A VIRTUE
Forgiveness is a word that we use lightly in the world today. Forgiveness is more than just a three syllable word, it is a word that keeps this world moving. What I mean by that is, without forgiveness, everyone would go around in the world hating each other for everything. Jesus tells us that no one is perfect, so how can we expect people not to make mistakes? The definition of forgiveness is "excusing a mistake or offence". That is pretty simple to say, but to some people it is not easily accomplished. Say that one of your best friends are in a bind after they just lost there job, so one day when you were not around and they took Rs. 100/- from your wallet to pay their cell phone bill. When you finally figure out who did it and you thought to yourself that they really needed the money, would you not forgive them? Jesus forgives us every time we make a mistake, he knows that we are only human and that we are going to make mistakes. God sent his only son to die on the cross so that all we have to do when we sin is ask him for forgiveness, is that not easy enough. People take this lightly, they think that forgiveness and is not mandatory for us to go to heaven, but the bible tells us that if we do not forgive others than we ourselves will not be forgiven, Matthew 6:15" But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.'That to me is pretty serious, not being able to go to heaven just because you didn't forgive that person who stole your money, or that person who totaled your car when you tried to help them when they didn't have one.'

  1. yes forgiving is very important . but i also think one shouldnt forget ! i can forgive but will not forget .....Yes small happenings like the money being stolen and stuff like that can be forgotten but when one does not show gratitude then it could be forgiven but never forgotten !!!

i dont know if you ll agree with this ...

  2. To Maya, unless we forget how can we forgive,,,as far as internal forgiveness is concerned its all about mind, the remebrence of evil would work Like a seed, and when it would get any environment at any time it would grow like mammoth tree of evil fruit.....so no forgeting yet forgiving is just cutting a tree from shoot leaving the root...and purpose of forgivness remains unfulfilled

  3. To kantiji(administrator),
Sir, what Jesus has told can`t be stated as reason for forgiveness....Jesus tells us that no one is perfect, so how can we expect people not to make mistakes?"
This statement is that of imperfection,,as we r not perfect ,,so mistake would happpen so forgive....and also who is forgiving is also imperfect.....
Sir, sorry for my words but I don`t keep
(eetey-faak) pace with western thought of imperfection...forgiveness is god`s virtue not that of imperfects,,,its something that make us perfect,,,so why think at all of these imperfection,,,,yes agree both is there perfection n imperfection then why not just think of perfection,,,,,,If our Mind or attitude is not that strong to recognize ourself in the leauge of the perfects,,,,,,even then why should we think of imperfect mortal being,,,,,,If I`m Shiva,,I perfect,,but if i`ve not realized that I shive,,i know shiva is someone who is perfect,,,lets Shive do forgiveness,,,,,what right do I have to punish or forgive anyone,,when I know that I also do mistake,,dirt can never clean dirt,,so,,I can only forgive anyone when I`m perfect,,,and if i`m not forgiving anyone will make me perfect!!! Ameen!
