Living in Now - What it means -How

Living in now - How
What's all this hoopla about "living in the now"? Of course I'm living in the now! I'm breathing, beating, moving, and eating in the now! Everything I do is right now; so what could people possibly mean by "live in the now"?
Remember when you were just a child? Your only aspirations were those of wanting to be a "fireman" or a "princess" or a "ballerina".
But even these thoughts were fleeting. We didn't spend our days pondering our futures, or reflecting on our pasts. Every day was a new life. Each day was full of opportunity, and we truly made the most of them. Wouldn't you give anything to have that feeling of bliss back?
This raises the question; have we lost touch with our inner child, and forgotten what it means to be alive? We spend our time working our butts off in order to buy that awesome new car, or that cute new purse. Then, and only then, we can enjoy ourselves in the present moment. Then, and only then, do we let our inner child out to play again. The enjoyment lasts for a moment, and then we are off to the races; moving toward our next toy; moving toward our next enjoyment fix.
Everything we need is here with us in the present moment. Still we tend to reach out for the next moment We find ourselves constantly striving to be something we aren't today. We strive to make more money, we strive to build our character, we strive to find the "perfect mate", we strive to educate ourselves in hope of finding a good job in the future. But when does this ever stop? When do we ever truly get there? When we land the job of our dreams, or find our "perfect mate", do we just roll over in a state of bliss and proclaim to ourselves, "I've arrived!"? The last time you've achieved a goal, did you arrive, or did you set your sights for something farther off in the distance? If you answered "something farther off in the distance," you can bet that's the same feeling you will get when you begin achieving the momentous goals you set for yourself in your earlier days. Life is in a constant state of change. We are always, and will always be moving toward our next goal. However, that doesn't mean we can't live in the now.
We seem hard-wired to resist the now with all of our being. And when we resist the now we resist all of reality, because it takes the entire Universe to create the present moment.
Life happens in the here and now. No reality exists outside of this moment right here and now. Love each moment.
When we learn to step back and just allow this moment to be what it is, we open a brand new, empowering reality. No grasping, no wanting, just the peace and joy of this moment await when we let go.
It sound easy. Many times people mistake this concept with the process of just sitting still, but there’s more to it than that.
It’s about where our mind is. And we normally keep our minds busy with the task of rushing back and forth between the future and the past.
Our days of childhood were great in that they were a constant state of bliss. There was no real world responsibility of having to provide for yourself and the family. Mommy and daddy took care of everything, and you just went about your business playing kickball in the middle of the street.
Unfortunately, these responsibilities do exist now, and we have to be aware of them, otherwise we will end up like the bum on the street. Despite this reality, we can still live in a state of bliss similar to our childhood days. The key is to love each moment as it passes by.
We leave so little concentration free to explore the now!
And sadly, right here and right now is where our freedom is found. LIFE happens in this moment, and when we learn to accept that we become free from all the things that stress us out or hold us back.
Let your eyes see what they will. Let your ears hear what they want. Don’t resist, just say yes to right here and right now.
Hold the moment by allowing the now to hold you. Don’t struggle or strain in your effort to attain this present moment, just let it be.
Be the space around you and observe your body and mind as if from outside and above. Let go completely and flow with what is.
